Nooru Mahal Restaurant & Kothu Roti

Veggie Kothu Roti:

This is one of my favourite foods ever. It is a Sri Lankan dish made from chopped roti, which is a flatbread, mixed with vegetables, fried egg, and spices. (Meat varieties are also available)

Nooru Mahal Restaurant:

So this is one of my family's favourite restaurants because 1) they offer the best Kothu Roti in town, 2) friendly service and 3) they have one of my family's beloved foods - Kothu Roti :).

Not only is the food great, but the prices are low and the portion sizes are just right.

So I went with my family on Sunday for dinner and my sisters and I ordered, as usual, a Vegetarian Kothu Roti (spice: hot). My mother ordered an Egg Kothu Roti (no spices or veggies), and my father ordered the Onion Dosa. Everyone was satisfied with the food except for my dad who claimed that his Dosa was too soft and bland.

My Kothu dish was super filling...coming from someone who has a larger than average appetite. The spicy Kothu Roti had the right textures and flavours, and aaaaaaahhhhh soo good. I don't know how else to describe it. You have to try it to know what I am talking about.

This is one dish that I believe everyone should try, and trust me you will be back for more.

(Note: The Kothu comes with gravy but I prefer not to add the gravy because I think it overpowers the flavours and texture)
